Seals are applied to the top of the bag. You must pay particular attention to keeping 7.5 mm to 10 mm from the top of the bag. It is not a good idea to seal the entire edge because the glue\/film ratio is not optimal there for a seal.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>1. Temperature<\/h2>\n<p>To get a good seal you need around 90\u00b0 between the layers. Taking into account heat loss, a <span style=\"color: #5b0208;\"><strong>sealing temperature of 130\u00b0 to 140\u00b0<\/strong><\/span> is usually more than sufficient. If you set the temperature higher then you run the risk of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h6>the paper catching fire<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>the ink becoming dark or black<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>the adhesive holding the paper and film together being activated causing them to separate<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>the film melting and shriveling causing the paper to disintegrate.<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So be careful when setting the temperature![\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tip<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Check that the temperature set has definitely been reached and that the element of your device is working properly and heating up fast enough. Over time, elements may become slower and give off less heat, which you should take into account.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>2. With most heat sealing devices, the pressure can only be adjusted mechanically.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Tip<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Try pulling your bag out from between the seal bolts when they are closed. If you can move your bag, then you know that there is no or not enough pressure on the layers to be sealed.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>3. Time<\/h2>\n<p>You <span style=\"color: #5b0208;\"><strong>need a certain amount of time<\/strong><\/span> to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h6>get through the paper<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h6>heat the film to the right temperature<\/h6>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #5b0208;\"><strong>Sealing for too short a time<\/strong><\/span> can result in the needed temperature between the layers not being reached. This causes inadequate binding between the layers.<\/p>\n<p>Conversely, <span style=\"color: #5b0208;\"><strong>sealing for too long<\/strong><\/span> can damage the packaging, particularly if the temperature is set too high.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In short, the message for a perfectly sealed bag is: set the correct temperature, apply enough pressure, seal for just long enough and check your device from time to time!<\/p>\n<p>Do you have specific questions about sealing?
